Influencer Focus: Blerim Romaku

In this the first of a new series of blog posts, we are going to be taking a look at another one of a wide variety of plant and machinery operators, who are making a name for themselves especially on the Instagram platform, in this instance Blerim Romaku.

Over the past 18 months or so we have featured quite a few of these high profile operator “influencers” from the Instagram platform, including Conor the Digger Driver, Lloyd Peckham aka Bearded Excavation, Amy Underwood aka The Digger Girl and James Herring of Life Behind the Levers fame.

These fine individuals are producing some fantastic content these days, and are having some real impact in the industry, they are even getting invites to events that I’m not invited too!

Blerim Romaku (29) who originally hails from Kosovo, Albania, is another up-and-coming star on Instagram, where he can be found as blerim_the_digger_driver check him out by clicking on the link.

He first moved to the UK in 2008 and currently lives in Stratford, East London. Blerim has been operating machines now for some 12 years, and has been using GPS systems for the past 3 years.

Blerim says that he has been operating machines from Hitachi, Volvo, Komatsu, Caterpillar, JCB and Kubota, but his current mount is a Hitachi Zaxis 130LCN-6 which he operates for Maidenhead based CSL Ltd.

Talking about his experiences online Blerim, who recently competed in an operator challenge style competition said, “It’s been great, I’ve been getting a lot of different offers thanks to social media and it’s been really helpful being able to get in touch with other operators on the social media circuit, so it’s been a very good way to make new friends in the industry”.

For me, this is the way social media should be, helping out like minded individuals, sharing and enjoying each other’s content, and it’s great to see this expanding network of operators on Instagram making a real impact.
