Intermat Debut for New Ammann Electric Mini Excavator

Swiss based company Ammann is perhaps best known for its compaction and road construction equipment, but in other markets they are also present with a range of 22 mini excavators.

Intermat Debut for New Ammann Electric Mini Excavator

For a period of time Ammann machines were commonly sold in the UK in a collaboration with Yanmar, which I believe eventually came to an end. Its current collaboration on the mini excavator market is with Italian manufacturer Eurocomach part of the Sampierana Group, now under the umbrella of CNH.

At Intermat 2024 Ammann will present the eAMX15 electric battery powered 1.5-tonne class mini excavator, which although being launched towards the end of last year in September, will be making its first appearance at an international trade show.

The machine, which will initially be aimed at the French market, like its Eurocomach and CASE counterparts is powered by a 21.5kw lithium-ion battery and produces 11.0 kw of power. According to Ammann the machine can be operated for up to 8 hours on a single charge, and is generally charged to 100% overnight in 10 hours, or when charging during the day, can be boosted up to 80% in just one hour when using a fast charger system.

The machine has a width of 1050mm when fully extended (with dozer blade extensions) but can be retracted down to 790mm for entering job sites via garden gates and pathways.

As part of the company’s continued move towards electrification, they plan to launch a second electric powered mini excavator towards the end of this year.

We are looking forward to stopping by the stand during our visit to Intermat in April.
