It’s Intermat Time!

Today marks the start of the Parisian machinery fest that is Intermat 2024 which runs from 24th – 27th April, makes a welcome and long overdue return to the construction equipment show circuit, after a lengthy absence caused by the hiatus of the Covid era.

It’s Intermat Time!

Normally held every three years, the show was originally called Expomat and was hosted at the Paris – Le Bourget Airport, however in 1988 the show moved venues to the Parc des Expositions de Villepinte and was rebranded as Intermat.

I last visited Intermat back in 2015 as a guest of CBL Plant Sales, in the year that I made the transition from full time machine operator, to focus on my work with Earthmovers Magazine. The work has certainly changed a lot since those days, especially with the ever-increasing focus on social media, and the rise of so-called social media influencers.

I am excited to be returning to Intermat personally, it’s a nice sized show, and extremely manageable, and not on the daunting scale of the mother of all machinery exhibitions, Bauma.

Naturally, this year's show will have a massive focus on new technologies and and Eco-friendly power solutions for the industry, and there will be lots to see for sure.

My intention is to share as much material as I can across our Digger Man Blog social media channels from the event and of course a review of the show will appear in Earthmovers Magazine in due course.

If you are attending the show in person, I will be spending time on the stands of Sunward Europe, Bobcat and Develon to name a few.

In the meantime, lets checkout this video from our friends at Koneporssi featuring highlights from the 2018 event, which I believe was the last time the show was held. See you in Paris!
