It’s Vegas Show Time Baby!
So by the time this post goes live, I will be well on my way up to Heathrow for my flight to Las Vegas to attend ConExpo-Con/Agg 2023.
I will be returning for only my second time at this show, having made my first foray to Las Vegas in 2020 under the spectre of the ever looming Covid-19 pandemic. I don’t think any of us who made the trip last time realised how serious things were going to get, with the show closing its doors a day early and the ensuing rush for overseas visitors to get home before the world closed down.

Fortunately, the world is now learning to live with Covid, and a new form of normal has returned, so its exciting to be heading back to ConExpo-Con/Agg without the stress of all that, and we can settle down and enjoy the show, as it should be enjoyed, with all the razzamatazz that we come to expect from a North American event.

Often regarded as the largest construction equipment exhibition in North America, this year’s event, which takes place at the Las Vegas Convention Centre (14-18th March) is set to be its biggest ever, in terms of exhibition space and the number of exhibits on display.

According to the show’s organizers, the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), this year’s triennial showcase event – which is slated to be 5% bigger than the 2020 exhibition – will feature 1,800 exhibitors and 150 education sessions during its five-day run.

With every square metre of exhibition floorspace – both indoors and outdoors – fully booked, Conexpo-Con/Agg 2023 is a complete sell out and AEM say the pace of attendee registration at the end of 2022 was nearly double what it was at the same point in time for the previous show.

On a personal level, I’m delighted to report that I will be working with a number of brands at the show, including LiuGong, Rokbak, Doosan/Develon and ALLU, so for the first 2-3 days there’s a good chance you will catch me on one of those stands, after that I will be all over the place grabbing material for Earthmovers Magazine, with a show this big and only 5 days to get around it all, it promises to be a hectic week!

As for the blog, my plan is to post a daily feature entitled “Postcards from ConExpo-Con/Agg” depending on my access to Wi-Fi etc.
And don’t forget, “What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas!”.
