JCB Goes X-Tra Large!
A video has been doing the rounds on social media for the past few weeks featuring what is set to be JCB’s largest X-Series excavator the 520X, I have held back on posting about it, but now I feel the time is right to give it a shoutout.
Clearly building on the success of the current largest X-Series model the 370X LC, JCB has launched a 520X LC model into the Indian domestic market. The rumours of this machine have been going around for a while now, and I’m sure it will only be a matter of time before we see one in full emissions compliant European spec for our domestic market and the wider European sector.
The Indian built 520X LC was unveiled in early December at the EXCON 2025 machinery exhibition, full details at this point are somewhat sketchy, but it has an operating weight of 55,300kg (55.3 tonnes) and power comes from a 298 kw (400 hp) X12 diesel engine. Standard bucket capacity is up to 3.4 m3.
We are definitely hungry to find out more about this new model, and to spend some valuable time in the seat of one for a full report in Earthmovers Magazine in due course.
