Kubota living the high life!

A series of stunning photos have been doing the rounds on the internet recently, which I feel are well worth a post here on the Digger Man Blog.

If there is an award for the scariest job of 2014, then I think this one would win hands down. On a demolition site somewhere in Czechoslovakia, demolition contractor Dav A.S. (Demolice a Vystavba) have been using a Kubota mini excavator to work on a top down demolition of large chimney stack, which has been caught on camera by our good friends at the Czech machinery website Bagry.cz. I have not been able to find out much detail on this amazing job, but I think the pictures really say enough! My initial thoughts were that the photos had been taken using a drone with a GoPro camera, but after a bit of digging around I discovered that the shots were actually taken from man basket possibly mounted on a crane. One would assume that all necessary risk assessments were conducted and that the whole procedure would have been safe for all concerned, but it still looks like a scary operation to me. One thing is for sure the photos are proving to be a big hit for Kubota mini excavator publicity! Thanks must go to Ondrej Hajek and the team at www.bagry.cz for the photos in this post.
