Largest dumptruck could be a record breaker

Earlier this month, saw the launch of a new giant in the mining industry, as Belarusian equipment manufacturer Belaz unveiled its new monster the 75710.

Largest dumptruck could be a record breaker
Will the introduction of this potential Guinness World record holder leave the likes of Cat, Komatsu and Liebherr quaking in their boots, I personally suspect not, but one cannot fail to be impressed by the trucks statistics. Powered by two 16-cylinder turbocharged engines which offer a combined power output of 4,600hp, this eight wheeled giant is able to carry a payload of 450 tonnes at a top speed of 65 kmh! It has to be said, it’s certainly not the most attractive looking piece of engineering and I guess only time will tell on its performance side. The truck is currently being field tested somewhere in Siberia and with the Russian winter looming it will be seriously put to the test. If all goes to plan the company expect the machine to go into full production in 2015. Check out this video courtesy of Chris Maginnis and Belaz.
