LetsDig18 Gets “Hands-On” with Volvo’s A40

Launched last year, the latest generation of Volvo Construction Equipment’s articulated haulers are certainly making friends in the industry.

Chris Guins, who we have featured many times on this blog previously, has a large following on You Tube as LetsDig18, is a long-term advocate for Volvo Construction Equipment and is currently running an EC350EL hydraulic excavator on his projects.

We first caught sight of the new ADT range in January 2025 when they were revealed at a launch event at Volvo Construction Equipment’s massive ADT manufacturing facility in Braås, which was established as far back as 1955, and it is here that Volvo CE’s entire range of articulated haulers are built.

Chris Guins who hails from North Carolina was offered an example of the revamped A40 truck to put to the test at work on a pond restoration project he was working on. The new truck was working alongside Chris’s existing A30D truck hauling on a mile long round trip, so it was a good size to opt for with its extra load capacity.
