Liebherr’s latest visit the Westcountry

Last week our local Liebherr team held an “Open Quarry” day event in St Austell, which I will be writing about in a future article for the magazine, but in this post I give you a taster on the star of the event the new PR 736 dozer.

The event was held in the famous Little John Pit in the heart of Cornish China Clay territory. Local Sales representative Graham Tregidgo assembled an R 922 hydraulic excavator, a variety of wheeled loaders and the PR 736 Tier 4 emissions compliant dozer, with local contractors and operators being invited to come along and get hands on with the new models. The un-disputed star attraction was the PR 736 dozer which was officially launched at last year’s Bauma Trade Fair in Munich and was the first model in the companies Generation 6 crawler tractor range. The PR 736 has a service weight ranging from 20 to 25 tonnes depending on specification. These new crawler tractors have been designed to provide increased efficiency whilst reducing fuel consumption and gas emissions. These new machines feature electronic travel speed regulation with an integral eco-function, and pro-active power control system. Look out for a more in-depth report on this event and the quarry operation in a future edition of Earthmovers Magazine.
