Lännen Launch the M-Series

Another new product launch has taken place during this crazy Covid period, this time in Finland, where our friends at Lännen have revealed their all new M-Series multi-functional backhoe loader range.

Lännen Launch the M-Series

Building on the success of Lännen’s K Series models, which were introduced in 2016, the new M-Series retains many of the most popular features from the previous line-up. But under the bonnet this machine now features the latest Agco Power Stage V engine. EU emissions regulations are met thanks to the installation of a diesel particulate filter (DPF).

Three new models will be available, the 8600M, 8700M and the 8800M ranging in weight from 12-13-tonnes. The most striking difference with these machines is the new corporate colour scheme of yellow and black with the new Lännen logo, this livery fits in well with the LCME Group’s sister brand Lundberg. Of course, as we have seen before, customers can specify machines painted in their own choice of paintwork if required.

All three models feature the same engine, with the two smaller models, the 8600M and 8700M machines, having a power output rating of 108kw, while the big 8800M is rated at 127kw.

The two smaller machines feature the same excavator boom and dipper arm, while the heaviest model 8800M and intermediate model 8700M have the same front loader. According to Lännen in this way, the customer can choose the excavator/loader arm combination that best suits their own work tasks. These machines also feature a slightly longer wheelbase than the outgoing K-Series models.

All new foot steps are provided for easier access to the cab, and the tool boxes that used to be integrated into the old steps on the K-Series have now been relocated to the front mudguards.

The cab interior features a nice grey shade of trim and much of the fittings are the same as the previous models, which already had superior levels of comfort and visibility which has been retained in the M-Series.

The largest change inside the cab is the all-new 10-inch touch screen attached to the slide rail which can be adjusted position wise to suit the operator. The menus have been re-designed to be easy to use. A quick tap on the screen provides information on working hours and fuel consumption, aswell as a whole host of other things. Hydraulic flow settings can be adjusted to suit different operator’s preferences, these settings can be programmed and stored in five different memory locations.

Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS capabilities are included in the cabin. One change made based on customer requests relates to the rear window wiper. It is now placed in the middle of the bottom of the glass. This widens the wiping range.

The rear window can now be locked completely as well as open. This makes it easier to communicate with the people working behind the machine. Naturally coming from a Nordic region a whole host of LED winter working lights are provided.

The M-Series machines can be equipped with Lännen Line Systems lifts, and the Lännen 8700M and 8800M can also be equipped with Lännen Rail Systems track wheel equipment.

The new M-Series models are expected to make thier first public appearance at the FinnMetko event which is going ahead from 3rd to 5th of September.
