Look out for runaway dump trucks

This grainy looking video has been doing the rounds on the machinery forum circuit for some time now, but its well worth taking another look at here on the Digger Man Blog.

The operator on the large Hitachi excavator obviously thought he was doing a grand job up-righting this Caterpillar 777 dump truck. What he obviously wasn’t expecting was that the handbrake had been left off after the truck had gone over, and once back on its wheels, it was off and running all the way down the hill!
