Machine Serve Yanmar SV10 Launch Day

South West Yanmar Compact Construction Equipment dealer, Machine Serve, recently held a launch day event at their premises in Winkleigh, Devon, and we popped along early in the day, before the crowds descended.

The actual event was aimed at giving customers and potential customers a chance to take a look at the newly launched 1-tonne class Yanmar SV10, which I was fortunate enough to spend some time on while I was there.

I will be covering this machine in more detail in an article in Earthmovers Magazine next month, so lookout for that one in due course.

But of course, there was a lot more to take a look at on the day, including the 2-tonne class SV20 VT.

This machine is the latest model in the manufacturers VT line of mini excavators that were first launched back in 2021. This example featured a full cab, but it is also available with a canopy, if required, often preferred by utility contractors who spend a lot of time jumping on and off the machines.

The machine has an operating weight of 1,880 to 1,970 kgs depending on specification, whilst the variable width undercarriage ranges from 980mm (retracted) to 1,320mm (fully extended). Maximum dig depth (with long dipper arm) is 2,710mm and as you might expect, power comes from a Stage V emissions compliant 3-cylinder Yanmar diesel engine offering a power output rating of 13.1kW.

It would have been nice to have put this stylish looking machine through its paces, but unfortunately this was a stock model for sale and not a demonstrator.

Another machine, the 6-tonne class SV60 was available for demonstrating the Gyru-Star 4-100 HE screening bucket, which is another attachment in the Machine Serve portfolio of products that they are dealers for. Gyru-Star are designed and manufactured in Gloucestershire by Wheatway Solutions Limited, and they are a highly regarded product in the screening bucket sector.

All in all, it was another enjoyable visit to Machine Serve, and we look forward to attending the next event they host.
