“Meet the Future” with Wacker Neuson at Bauma

Our pre-Bauma coverage is starting to ramp up now as anticipation builds rapidly, with the ‘Mother’ of all heavy machinery shows, just a matter of weeks away.

The Wacker Neuson booth is always a fascinating place to visit during Bauma, the company has such a wide and diverse range of products, that there really is something for everyone.

This time around, their motto for the show is “Meet the Future” and highlights the fact that electrification and digitization will play a major role on the Wacker Neuson stand.

At Bauma, Wacker Neuson will also present an extension of their zero-emission portfolio and demonstrate how the switch to E-machines can be attractive and uncomplicated for customers.

But of particular interest to me and the Digger Man Blog readers and followers will be the all new EW100 wheeled excavator that competes in the highly competitive 10-tonne class sector, and will be premiered at the show for the first time in public.

It certainly looks like a great piece of kit from the photos we have seen of it, but what can we expect from the machine in the metal, this is what Wacker Neuson have to say about it.

“The EW100 is unique in its class and sets new benchmarks. The construction site 4.0 was in focus while developing the machine: An intelligent Attachment Management with tool recognition, a well-thought-out Human-Machine-Interface and the preparation for diverse assistance systems and interfaces are just a few examples.

Operator friendliness and efficiency were in focus during development: Thus, work can also be completed using the powerful drive hydraulics and high basic work performance of the EW100, for which a 14-ton-excavator would have to be used otherwise”.
