Monday Mudlark

The internet is awash with videos of machines bogged in or in perilous situations, and I know from the many messages I receive on a daily basis, that there is a big appetite out there for this type of content.

Monday Mudlark

It’s always been something of a sick trait of humans to laugh at the misfortune of others, but we just can’t help ourselves. But we should never laugh too much as there is always potential for one of us to become bogged in, its something that can happen very easily and very quickly too, I know I’ve been there a couple of times during my operating career, one moment, all full of confidence thinking, it will never happen to me and then in the blink of an eye, bogged!

Anyway, with all the messages for more of this stuff, over the weekend I came across this video from the Construction Cambodia You Tube channel, which features a Cat 312 REGA hydraulic excavator which has got into a sticky situation in a river, quite what he was doing in there is anyone’s guess!

A small Komatsu D20P dozer is deployed to assist in the extraction process, but first they have to get the machine up and running again, no mean feat when its up to its upper-carriage in water.

One has to admire the enthusiasm of the assembled chaps as they attempt to rescue the stricken machine, but will they get it out I wonder?

Big credit to Construction Cambodia You Tube channel for material used in this blog post.
