Its been a while since we heard from our “Englishman Down Under” Michael Bullock, but I’m delighted to report he has been in touch to tell us about a giant machinery low loader he spotted recently while out and about with his father who was visiting him in Australia.

If you have massive machines to move around, you are ultimately going to need even bigger transport to shift it! In Australia where space is not a problem the answer is the Panther Series II 360 tonne low loader designed and manufactured in Western Australia by Piacentini & Son. The sheer scale of this thing is incredible, check out this shot from Michael that shows him stood between the wheels of the “tractor unit” in this case a Caterpillar 793D!

Capable of moving large dozers, dump trucks and excavators, this amazing piece of kit is breath-taking not only its bemouth size but its capacity too, its certainly not something we would see very often as it would probably spend most of its time shifting kit around the huge iron ore mines in Western Australia.
