More Mansen Mörinät

In April this year, I was back in Finland for the latest edition of Mansen Mörinät the unique machinery event, that is hosted at numerous dealer’s premises in an industrial area of Tampere and is featured in my report in the July 2023 edition of Earthmovers.

However, with so many photographs and video footage accumulated during my visit to the event with my friends at Koneporssi who are the media partners, I thought it would be a great idea to share some more highlights from the visit here on the blog.

Finnish Hitachi Construction Equipment dealer Rotator Oy probably had one of the largest displays at the whole event, and the vast yard was stocked out with lots of machines, most of which I was told had been sold and ready for processing prior to customer delivery. One of the largest machines spotted was a Zaxis 690-7LCH but also seen in the background is a Zaxis 530LCH-7 set up with a Bell B30E ADT of which Rotator Oy are also dealers for.

Take a look around some of the various exhibits including the wonderful restoration of a 1983 model Hitachi UH081, the actual second example ever imported into Finland. 

The premises of Volvo Construction Equipment Finland, is located just next door to Rotator, so a short walk along the road and we arrived to be greeted by this very nice EWR150E wheeled excavator c/w TAB boom and Engcon tiltrotator and the classic Nordic combination of a multi-purpose tipping trailer, in this instance an Estonian manufactured Humus 10CT model.

The joy of Mansen Mörinät is that in many instances, you can just walk along the road to the next dealership, and following the visit to Volvo we took a few strides down that road to the premises of KH-Koneet , whose dealership portfolio includes Yanmar, Wacker Neuson and Kobelco. One machine really dominated the stand space at this venue, the stunning Kobelco SK380SR 38-tonne class sort radius excavator, this example was fitted with Novotron GPS system and an Engcon tiltrotator.

Finnish CASE Construction Equipment dealer Konevuokraamo-Rentti presented a wide range of new E-Series excavators and the new D-Series mini excavators, but a major focal point in the yard was the CASE 856C motor grader. Motor graders are widely used in Finland especially during the winter months for clearing snow from the roads, I definitely need to get across again during the winter months to see some in action.

Finally in this batch, another 10-tonne class wheeled excavator and tipping trailer combination awaited us over at Develon (formerly Doosan) dealers Real Machinery. The DX100W was well specced with all the bells and whistles, as we have come to expect in the Nordic regions, featuring a two-piece (TAB) boom, Engcon tiltrotator, twin independent front stabilizers and rear mounted dozer blade and Nordic light package.
