New Look for Yanmar’s SV26-7 and ViO27-7 Mini Excavators
News reaches the Digger Man Blog that Yanmar Compact Equipment EMEA (Yanmar) has launched the new SV26-7 and ViO27-7 mini excavators, developed as next-generation successors to well proven models in one of Europe’s most competitive compact equipment categories.
Designed for construction, landscaping and urban applications, both machines respond to growing demand for compact, intuitive equipment that performs reliably in complex environments. In the fast-growing and highly competitive 2–3 tonne segment – where rental fleets play a major role – they combine a compact footprint with efficient and dependable performance.
Built for the modern world
From narrow city streets to residential gardens and renovation sites, the SV26-7 and ViO27-7 are engineered to perform where precision is essential. The ViO27-7 features Yanmar’s classic zero tail swing design, with a rear turning radius of just 750 mm, allowing operators to work safely alongside buildings, walls and traffic while minimising the risk of accidental contact.
The SV26-7 complements this with a short tail swing configuration and optimised counterweight, delivering enhanced stability and lifting performance. With a rear turning radius of 1165 mm (1240 mm with counterweight), it is well suited to applications where stability, traction and consistent lifting capability are key. Both machines maintain a compact footprint, with an overall width of 1,500 mm for the SV26-7 and 1,550 mm for the ViO27-7 (including cab and rubber tracks), ensuring easy access and transportability without compromising working stability.

Performance that works as hard as you do
Powered by Yanmar’s proven 3TNV80F engine, both machines deliver 17.7 kW of net power and 18.4 kW of gross power (at 2800 rpm), combining efficient fuel consumption with consistent output. High digging forces – including up to 21.4 kN at the bucket and 16.5 kN on the arm – enable demanding tasks, while a maximum digging depth of up to 3,025 mm supports productivity across utility installation, landscaping and construction work.
Traction forces of up to 23.5 kN further enhance performance on varied terrain, while a boom swing angle of 75° to the left and 60° to the right allows efficient operation along structures and in limited working areas. Central to their performance is Yanmar’s ViPPS hydraulic system, enabling smooth, simultaneous movements even while travelling; and ensuring precise, responsive control across complex tasks and changing site conditions.
Stability and control, wherever the job takes you
Stability has been integral to the development of both models. The SV26-7 benefits from its balanced design and reinforced rear structure, providing reliable lifting performance even when working with heavier attachments or uneven terrain. The ViO27-7 delivers a stable and predictable working platform without compromising its ultra-compact zero tail swing design, thanks to its robust undercarriage and optimised weight distribution. Enhancements in lifting performance, including up to 11% improvement in front lifting capacity, further extend the versatility of both machines.

Designed around the operator
Operator comfort and usability are central to the design of the SV26-7 and ViO27-7. Both machines feature spacious cabins, easy access, air conditioning, excellent visibility and intuitive controls, supporting smooth, confident operation. The ergonomic environment helps reduce fatigue over long working hours, particularly in rental applications where ease of use is essential for operators of all experience levels. The SV26-7 and ViO27-7 are designed to adapt across diverse applications, from urban construction and utility work to landscaping and small-scale building projects. The ViO27-7 excels in the tightest environments, while the SV26-7 offers additional stability and lifting performance for more demanding or varied conditions.
Ready to move, ready to work
Ease of transport and maintenance has been carefully considered to support productivity and reduce downtime. Both machines can be transported within 3.5-tonne regulations when equipped with standard attachments, including a quick coupler and three buckets. Wide-opening access points provide straightforward access to key components, simplifying daily checks and servicing. Combined with Yanmar’s proven reliability and dealer support, this ensures maximum uptime over the long term.

Finished in Yanmar’s distinctive Premium Red, the SV26-7 and ViO27-7 reflect a continued commitment to machines that respond directly to customer needs. Bringing together a winning trifecta of compact design, strong performance and intuitive control, they are built to perform with confidence – whatever the job demands.
