New Year, New Hope

In the first instance, may I take this opportunity to wish all Digger Man Blog readers, and all our followers on the various DMB social media platforms a very Happy New Year!

New Year, New Hope

So, after one of the strangest years in my living memory, the Digger Man Blog is back to kick off 2021, with renewed hope and vigour for the future, although, as I sit here writing this, things are still looking rather bleak on the Covid-19 virus front.

Now I’m no expert on such things, but I am hoping its just a case of enduring another few months of tight restrictions during this crucial winter period, coupled with the continued roll out of the vaccine to the wider population and gradually we will be in a much better position in the middle to latter stages of 2021.

As for this blog it will be business as usual, as our long standing and well proven platform brings you the usual wide variety of plant and machinery related topics throughout the course of the year.

Just before the world went mad last March during Conexpo in Las Vegas, I caught up with @Pushysix aka Scott Colclough, social media sensation, heavy equipment operator and long term supporter of encouraging young people into our industry, something that is very close to my heart too, as we need young blood in the game!

There are some massive plans lined up for this year, which I can’t talk about yet, and of course there is also the new collaboration, The Construction Collective, with my friends and industry colleagues Peter Haddock of Content with Media, and Mark Anthony and Fred Anthony of Demolition News and Diggers & Dozers respectively, which will see more live shows and reports from job sites around the country and if we can all get back to travelling again, overseas visits, so there is plenty to look forward too!

With a massive investment in major projects to get the economy going again, there will be plenty of work for construction, civil engineering and earthmoving contractors, so lets all roll up our sleeves and get stuck in to help get the country back on its feet again!

I would like to thank all our loyal followers for the continuing support of the Digger Man Blog and I wish you all a safe, healthy and prosperous New Year.
