Nothing Beats the Big Blue Liebherr for Risto

Highly skilled Finnish operator Risto Kantola received the companies first Liebherr R 936 Compact hydraulic excavator back in 2018 and has been singing the machines praises ever since.

Risto has recently posted some of his own photos on a Facebook group that I follow called Liebherr Fans, which as the name suggests, encourages fans of the brand to share their images and videos of the machines they drive or in some cases own. I thought it would be nice to share some of them here on the Digger Man Blog.

I have met Risto on numerous occasions during my visits to Finland, and we share the same passion for machines and the job of machine operating.

Risto operates his latest Liebherr R 936 Compact for VM Suomalainen Oy who are based in Vantaa, near Helsinki, with most of their machines featuring blue livery which combined with the white cab, gives them a patriotic Finnish appearance.

His latest machine is equipped with an Engcon EC233 and the EC-Oil quick change system and features the extremely versatile two-piece TAB boom arrangement. Risto is a very capable machine operator who can turn his hand to anything including driving sheet piling during deep excavation work.

Talking about his love of these machines Risto said, “My first 936 Compact was delivered to us in 2018, even back then the machine was an outstanding piece of equipment, I can still say, that I am yet to find anything better than these.

The machines have all been sold to VM Suomalainen Oy, chairman of the board Harri Kallio (left) by the ever-popular Ari Hopia, who is the Sales Manager for Liebherr Finland.
