Ollie Kitchin Living the Dream

Our friend owner/operator Ollie Kitchin is enjoying his latest assignment with his machine and has sent in some more photos and video clips of what he’s been up to.

Ollie Kitchin Living the Dream

As we reported in our last blog on Ollie he is currently in a move away from the familiar road construction and maintenance work that he has been more well known for in recent years, he and his “all singing, all dancing” Komatsu PW148 are undertaking forestry clearance and associated work on some stunning private estates. Armed with his trailer and a wide range of attachments he really is a one man, one machine mechanised lumber jack!

Describing the photos as “another day in the Swedish Blue office” Ollie shows how he wraps his grab around the tree and runs it up and down to de-limb the trunk so he can get his SMP shear in easily to cut the tree.

Apparently, this area is an old Christmas tree plantation that needed to be cleared, one can imagine it beats sitting alongside the M1 for days on end! Working on jobs like this really make you appreciate the surroundings and the ability to work solo is a real benefit too.

Checkout the video sent in by Ollie.

We thank Ollie for sharing these photos with us here on the Digger Man Blog.
