On the Russian Front with BrutalDigger

We are seeing an explosion of operators on social media now documenting their day to day lives using a wide variety of cameras and camera angles to “vlog” about what they have been up to on the jobsite.

We have featured one of these new high-profile guys previously in Conor the digger driver a larger than life character who has made a massive leap in a short space of time and is now producing some top quality content and in addition, promoting a wide range of products on his Instagram account. Another guy making waves on “Insta” is Russian heavy machinery operator Evgeny Akhtyrtsev aka Brutal Digger, who hails from Kaliningrad, a large city on the coast of the Baltic Sea.

Evgeny plys his trade operating a Hyundai R 220LC-9A for a local company. Talking about the Hyundai Evgeny said, “I really like the power of the machine provided by the Cummins engine which is really quiet and extremely economical on fuel, I also enjoy the smoothness of the hydraulics and the cab interior is fantastic!” Most of his work appears to be agriculturally based, excavating or cleaning out ditches and piping them up and forming new ditches with a V ditch bucket etc but I would imagine he would turn his hand to most types of work. Brutal digger currently has 1,793 followers on Instagram, while his You Tube account has 289 subscribers.

Talking about social media Evgeny said, “The social networks help me to learn about new work tools for machines and stuff that I can offer advice to my boss about. I also get useful tips from my Instagram followers and by looking at similar You Tube channels to mine.
