On the ‘Strip’ with Tru Earthworks

It’s been some year’s now since I paid a visit to the Tru7 Group, which under the guidance of leading plant and machinery entrepreneur Guy Nicholls continues to go from strength to strength.

On the ‘Strip’ with Tru Earthworks

It was around 2016 when I last visited the vast and stunning new premises of Sinks Pit in Kesgrave, Ipswich, which at the time was entering the final stages of development and its fair to say a lot has happened since those days with the addition of more sister businesses such as Tru Earthworks.

In addition, the group also includes the well-known divisions of Tru Plant, Trucks ‘R’ Us, Tippers ‘R’ Us, Tru Grab, Tru Agg, Tru Mix, and Clarke Demolition Company Ltd.

Offering one of the most modern fleets of earthmoving equipment in the UK, Tru Earthworks was formed in 2020 with a vision to offer a wide range of services including site clearance, bulk muck shifting and remediation works, reservoirs, sports pitches, domestic & commercial sites and infrastructure.

Tru Earthworks is spearheaded by Guy’s son and Operations Director of Tru7 Group, Jake Nicholls, who continues to push the business on in true Nicholls style.

Over the weekend I came across this video featuring Tru Earthworks kit in action, including a Volvo EC380EL excavator, 2 x Volvo A30G articulated haulers, and the phenomenal Komatsu D71 PXi dozer which were engaged in a topsoil strip job.

I was engrossed, and it reminded me of when I was a kid, I’d be sat on a fence somewhere watching a similar scenario unfold before my eyes, I could quite easily sit and watch kit like this going about its business for hours on end.

I must make another visit over to the east side again soon, in the meantime, enjoy the video.
