On track for Lannen

So the time has finally come for my much anticipated trip to Finland to see amongst others, the Lannen Tractors facility in Loimaa. Lannen Tractors Oy has a long and illustrious history in Finland and by coincidence will be celebrating 60 years in business while I am out there!

Following a recent post on our Digger Man Blog Facebook page about Lannen machines, Danish rail contractor Jimmi Jorgensen, who currently runs another brand of rail mounted backhoe loader, put out a shout for me to take some photos of the Lannen rail machines including close up shots of the front wheels. If I am lucky enough to see one during my tour I will definitely try and take some shots, but in the meantime in this blog post let’s take a look at a Lannen rail special in action on the tracks.

Lannen’s dedicated rail machines are designed for a safer working environment and can be used for general rail maintenance of the rail itself, terminals, overhead electrical power lines using the man basket and crane attachment and road infrastructure. The machine is equally at home on the track or with its bogie wheels raised working off the track. The machines fitted CAN-Bus system makes it possible to collect technical data required for the work site ensuring high quality precision works are completed on time, something that is very important in the rail sector.
