Operator training school: A British Pathe classic (Blog Post Re-Visited)
This classic British Pathe clip has been highlighted to me by Chris Moore and it’s simply too good not to share with the Digger Man Blog faithful.
Long before television and the internet these British Pathe films were the British publics major source of news, second only to the newspapers. People used to attend cinemas in there 1000’s to watch these informative and entertaining movie clips back in the day when Britain really was great!
This clip features a couple of Allis Chalmer machines that were being used at a plant training facility in Feltham, Middlesex. The commentary is typical of the day, in a style made famous in more recent years by the Harry Endfield spoof character Mr Cholmondley-Warner. For fans of classic earthmoving kit and old school operating techniques this clip is a real treat!
The Digger Man Blog thanks Chris for sharing this video with us.
