Peter Haddock gets the Lowdown on JCB Products at Letsrecycle Live

At the recent Letsrecycle Live event our friend and industry colleague Peter Haddock caught up with Joe Hilton, JCB’s industry and electric product specialist to discover more about two specific products for use in the recycling and waste industries.

It was the first time Peter had been up close to see the all-electric Teletruk, and for a small machine, it packs a serious punch. Known as the JCB 30-19E it has a maximum lift capacity of 3000kg with a maximum lift height of 4m.

More importantly for the waste sector, it is capable of lifting 1,900kg at a 2m lift high, making it ideal for loading materials. Unlike the other electric models, JCB has cleverly designed a lead acid battery into this machine, and at just over 1 tonne, it acts as a perfect counterweight for the machine. Interestingly it is also replaceable, being lifted out and replaced by a fully charged spare.

This allows customers to do a full shift on one battery and swap it out to even do a triple shift. With Zero emissions at the point of use, it can work both indoors and outdoors and with the impressive fork attachments available (see the video), it’s a real workhorse.

The Wastemaster is a machine specifically designed to work in the sector with specialist protection around the machine as well as for the operator. It features solid tyres and a new 130hp Stage V JCB DieselMax engine that works on HVO fuel, like all the other Stage V machines from JCB.

Other key highlights include: - CommandPlus cab with 12% increase in size. - 50% reduction in cab noise to 69dBA. - 14% increase in upward visibility through one-piece curved glazing - 7.9m Maximum lift height - 6000kg maximum lift capacity It also sports the CESAR Scheme tag and Emissions Compliance Verification stickers to protect it from theft whilst displaying its environmental credentials.
