Pink Excavator Stands Out in the Forest
We have reported on numerous pink excavators over the years on the Digger Man Blog, only last week I was out visiting another pink themed machine, which you will be able to read about in a future edition of Earthmovers, then I came across another one on the internet, which I thought would be of interest to our followers!
Forestry contractors Metsätyö Manninen Oy from Kangasniemi, Finland, have had JCB excavators in their fleet for over ten years, supplied to them by our friends over at Mateko Oy who are the main Finnish dealers for JCB machinery.
Their latest addition to the fleet is a JCB 150XHD forestry specification hydraulic excavator. Managing Director Petri Manninen originally had a plan to have the machine painted pink at the factory in the UK, but it worked out to be quite expensive, so they took delivery of it in its regular JCB yellow livery earlier this month.

Petri’s wife Anu Huiskonen will be the machines regular operator, so Petri has since had the machine fully customised in Finland, with a professional paint job undertaken by Arton Autofiksaus.

The undercarriage has been strengthened for the rigours of forestry work, and has received skis and additional armour designed and supplied by MEP Steel Oy, with additional LED working lights from Lazer.

At the business end the machine is fitted with an MT19 tilting coupler from Finnish manufacturer Marttiini Metal Oy, these tilting couplers are especially popular in Finland with those working in the forestry industry as they are more durable in that environment than full blown tiltrotators.

We wish Petri and Anu, seen above left & right, with the new machine on delivery day, all the very best with the stunning excavator, its certainly a machine you wouldn’t miss when visiting the forest, maybe one day in the future I can pay it a visit for an in-depth report in Earthmovers Magazine.
