Postcards from ConExpo-Con/Agg (Part Two)

There were plenty of surprises in store for visitors to the DEVELON stand on the opening day of ConExpo-Con/AGG, the company who have rebranded from Doosan, displayed some mind-blowing technology to keep attendees entertained despite the rain clouds that threatened to spoil the day.

There are plenty of conventional DEVELON branded machines to be seen on the stand, but the stars on the display arena were the new Concept X2 100 cabless dozer and the 225 hydraulic excavator, both of which were being operated remotely courtesy of state-of-the-art communications technology. 

The dozer bore a striking resemblance to a concept model that another manufacturer showed at Bauma during the 2019 edition of the show, but this is a 100% DEVELON designed unit and provided a glimpse into the future of autonomous earthmoving machinery which is designed to work in dangerous environments where it would not be safe to put an operator to work.

These machines can be operated from a dedicated workstation away from the job site, or via a handheld remote-control unit.
