Red & Grey all the way for Mays

Our good friend Owen Mays is a passionate ambassador for the Japanese Takeuchi brand of mini & midi excavators and has recently featured in a new testimonial video from the manufacturer.

We have had the pleasure of visiting Owen Mays in the past and indeed working together on test drives with Takeuchi machines. Owen’s enthusiasm for the popular machines is inspiring and made even better with his adoption of the Engcon tiltrotator systems which he specifies on his machines.

Owen is based up in Hampshire, my original home county, so its always great to catch up with him, and chew the cud about local work and reminisce about some old industry figures in that area, where I spent much of my time working on machines as an operator.

Its probably fair to say, I share Owen’s passion for the Takeuchi brand, having operated many over the years and owning my own TB235 for 5 years. They are just great machines, extremely reliable, nice and smooth to operate and have good resale value.

Owen, who is one of the industry's genuine nice guys, currently runs seven Takeuchi’s which include a TB210R, TB215, TB216, TB225, TB240, TB290, and the flagship on the fleet is the TB2150, and by the sound of it, there will be a couple more joining the fleet in due course.
