Rock On Rokbak

Last week we witnessed the rebranding launch of Terex Trucks which will now be marketed as Rokbak.

Rock On Rokbak

It was a secret that my Construction Collective colleagues Mark Anthony, Peter Haddock and myself had been proudly holding in for some weeks having been involved in the build up to launch day, something that we were all very excited about.

Now that the cat is well and truly out of the bag, I thought it would be nice to pop a post about the brand here on the Digger Man Blog.

The new Rokbak brand will build on the already long-established hauling heritage of the Scottish based dump truck and articulated hauler manufacturer. That history can be traced back as far as 1934 which saw the launch of the worlds first off-highway dump truck, then under the Euclid banner, which was the 1Z model, a primitive looking truck by today’s standards, but at the time, a pioneering trailblazer for the later trucks to follow.

It was 1950 when Euclid Great Britain was first set up in Motherwell, Scotland, to begin development and manufacture of off-road trucks and production has continued at that location ever since with various takeovers along the way.

Since 2014 the business has been under the umbrella of the Volvo Group, who purchased the off-road product line from the American Terex Corporation in that year.

There is no doubt about it, the Volvo Group know a thing or two about the articulated hauler business, and they have invested well over £35m into research and development of the products, refining and improving them, culminating in the re-launch as Rokbak.

The new 28-tonne payload RA30 and 38-tonne payload RA40 from Rokbak are described as the most productive and efficient articulated haulers the company has ever made.

We are looking forward to trying one of these new trucks out in due course, now that they are out there and heading for customers as we speak!
