Rotation in Motion at Holp Attachment Day

German attachment business Holp GmbH hosted the latest edition of their popular attachment equipment days over the weekend.

Rotation in Motion at Holp Attachment Day

Our good friend and industry colleague Dirk Bömer who is a long-standing machine operator, earthmoving equipment enthusiast and journalist was in attendance and has kindly shard some photos with us here on the Digger Man Blog.

Dirk’s journey from machine operator into plant and machinery journalism is very similar to my transition, so much so that some people are now calling him the German version of Nick Drew! Which is great to hear, as Dirk is a really nice guy and a super enthusiastic machinery man.

Dirk in action at a previous Bobcat event we attended together last year.

Dirk drove his car down to Holp’s facility in Murrhardt, some 402 km from his home in Wuppertal, not far from Dusseldorf, to attend the event where he joined around 30 other industry professionals and their families for a fun day out, trying out the latest products from the manufacturer at their very own testing grounds.

Having attended one of these days myself in the past, I can tell you that it has a nice relaxed atmosphere and there are plenty of opportunities to get some time on the machines.

The sun was shining and everything was just perfect for the event, with food and refreshments available for hungry machine operators and their kids, as they watched demonstrations of the latest attachments.

Dirk said he was in his element has he jumped from machine to machine, which included examples from the likes of Atlas, Case, Caterpillar, Kubota and Wacker Neuson.

Holp are probably best well known for their Rototop, a 360-degree continuous rotation attachment, that is a strong and well-built piece of kit with extremely low build height and a very cost-effective solution.

Another interesting attachment is the VarioLöffel bucket, which has a rectangular and v-shaped design, and is quite a multi-functional bucket to have in one’s arsenal.

Günter Holp, Torsten Schick, and the whole Holp team were on hand to answer questions and offer advice, and of course Günter is also a fantastic machine operator and is always up for demonstrating their unique attachments to full effect.

The event was completed with a tour of the impressive new Holp offices, workshops and storage facility.

It looks like it was another great event and we thank Dirk for sharing some of his images with us here on the Digger Man Blog.
