Royal Cornwall Show Machinery Highlights (The Best of the Rest)
In this final look back at this year’s visit to the Royal Cornwall Show machinery trade stand, we round up the remaining dealers we visited during our mixed weather day at the show!
Kicking off this round-up with a visit to our friends on the JAW Hire stand, which featured a very nice Hitachi Zaxis 225USLC-7 machine c/w Engcon tiltrotator that has been purchased by Steve Hoskin Construction, and carry’s a very special message on the counterweight.
The company are supporting the @wearelighthousecharity – the only UK charity dedicated to the mental, physical & financial wellbeing of construction workers and their families.

The rear end has received a makeover in the rainbow colours of the Lighthouse Charity, and also features a QR code which operatives can use to gain access to the charity’s support services. The machine will be operated by Sam Sewart who pushed for this campaign, as he himself has had his struggles with mental health over the years, and who must be commended for raising awareness.
Kubota and Mecalac dealers Vincent’s were once again in their traditional spot at the show and had a huge display of new kit for visitors to see. It was interesting to see what I believe to be the very first Mecalac Revotruck site dumper to be delivered to a customer in the South West, heading to Cornwall based Taylor Build Groundworks and Landscaping, I would have to think a potential one for us to visit for Earthmovers Magazine in due course if they are up for it!

Also, on the stand and as featured in last weeks blog, the new Kubota SVL 75-3 compact tracked loader (CTL) which is now available in Europe for the first time.

Hambly’s are making good progress in the South West as the official dealers for Bobcat construction equipment. The long-established agricultural equipment dealer had a decent selection of Bobcat machinery on show, highlight on the stand was the E55Z C/W Rototilt tiltrotator sold to LH Plant Hire & Construction, who appear to run quite a few Bobcat machines.

Conagri who are a multi franchise business had a wide selection of machines from their portfolio, which includes Sunward, Venieri, and Captain tractors. The Venieri 1.63DTL articulated telescopic loader, the first of its kind in the UK, took centre stage on the stand, a superbly stylish looking piece of kit.

On the Sunward front Conagri presented some of the smaller machines in the mini excavator range including this SWE18UF a zero tailswing sub-2-tonne class model.

Conagri’s charity fundraising Pink Captain tractor was also on display with ticket sales reported to be going very well across the 3 days of the show.

It was great to see Caterpillar machines back at the Royal Cornwall Show, this time on the Rundle & Co Agri stand. Rundle & Co are the latest appointed compact Cat dealers in the South West and appear to making a big impact in the competitive regional market. We spotted this nice 302.7 mini excavator heading to Cornish customer Paul Rescorl.

It was great to see our good friend and industry legend Sean Heron of Worsley Plant making an appearance at the Royal Cornwall Show, where they were showcasing some their extensive range of attachments, which includes MB crushers and screeners, Remu crushing and screening buckets, Rotar attachments, Montabert breakers and unique equipment from Dynaset.

They even came away from the show with a Bronze Medal Award in the Machinery Competition for the DYNASET Oy Generator!

On our way out after a tiring and challenging day with the weather, we briefly stopped by the Truro Tractors stand to checkout the latest Sany hydraulic excavators which were on display.

Another hugely successful Royal Cornwall Show over for another year, and despite the conditions people still came out in decent numbers with the official attendance recorded as being 110,676, which is slightly down on the previous year, but no surprise considering the final day, which saw torrential downpours virtually all day, until next year, over and out!
