Shifting Gear at M&M Plant (Devon and Cornwall) Ltd

Its always a pleasure to visit the fine folks down at M&M Plant Sales my local CASE Construction Equipment and Wacker Neuson dealers, and as they are located on the outskirts of Launceston, just a short drive away from where I live, I do enjoy the occasional drop in.

Shifting Gear at M&M Plant (Devon and Cornwall) Ltd

I stopped by M&M just last week to do a brief video clip for another project I am involved in, and naturally I was keen to have a browse around to see what kit was in and being prepared to go out the gate to their customers.

There have been some changes at the business in recent years following the retirement of former Director Mark Gregory. Bruce Bellamy who is now in his third year with the business has stepped up to the role as Director and become a business partner Michael Davey.

Talking about the business and the future Bruce said, “We are pushing on with the increase in machines to our hire fleet, along with introducing Chris Hughes as a new salesman, to assist with Mark Boundy to further grow our sales across Cornwall, Devon and Somerset. We are also introducing a new satellite depot in the north of our region, which will enable Mark to push on upwards and be supported better by the service team as I'm aware of the distance across our patch”.

The company has also invested in a low loader, which has been a massive help, enabling them to be self-sufficient when delivering machines from the hire fleet, in addition to delivering new machines to their sales customers, and delivering back-up machines as and where needed.

“I’ve always been aware that us in sales can sell the first machine, but its service back up that sells the second, that’s very important to us”, commented Bruce.

The team have also introduced 2 loading shovels into the hire fleet, and they are actively stocking the CASE shovels to support the product going forward which will help to introduce them into a new market sector

There was plenty of new stock in the yard to take a look around including new CASE CX130E and CX210E hydraulic excavators and a wide range of Wacker Neuson products including a number of Dual View dumpers ready to head out to Cornish based customer Duchy Plant Hire, who are continuing to invest in new kit for their expanding hire fleet.

Its great to see this very successful and friendly business moving forward with their plans, and in addition thanks to the efforts of Chris Hughes, the serious step up in their social media output, something that has become an essential business tool in this day and age.

Before I headed off home, we took the opportunity to have a bit of fun creating a CASE version of the “Bentley Girl” reel edit that has become an internet sensation in recent weeks, just in case you missed it, here it is below!
