SPRAYPAL – The Story
Swedish excavator operator Henrik Johansson has come up with an innovative solution for spraying dig lines direct from the cab of the machine, and he has been in touch with the Digger Man Blog to tell us all about it in his own words!
Every operator knows the routine.
You set out a point with GPS, stop the machine, climb down, grab a spray can, mark the ground, climb back in and continue working.
Then repeat, again and again and again!
For some operators this means losing a few minutes every day.For others it can mean more than an hour of lost productivity during a single shift.
Henrik became frustrated with the constant climbing in and out of the machine and started looking for a better solution.
The result has became SprayPal.

SprayPal is a compact wireless marking system that allows operators to spray mark directly from the machine cab.
The system can be mounted on virtually any machine and uses standard marking paint available from multiple manufacturers.
The operator activates the system wirelessly from wherever it is most convenient – a joystick button, a switch inside the cab, a remote control or even from a pocket.
The unit weighs approximately 3 kg and can be installed, removed or transferred between machines in seconds.
Unlike many machine accessories, SprayPal is designed to be flexible.
The installation can be adapted to different machine types, the spray angle can be adjusted, and the entire unit remains compact and discreet.
Potential applications include:
• Excavators
• Wheel loaders
• Tractors
• Utility vehicles
• Service vehicles
• Surveying operations
• Infrastructure projects
• Road construction
• Utility installation
• Fibre optic projects
• Electrical networks
• Water and sewer construction
• Landscaping
• Rail projects
• Municipal maintenance
• Civil engineering
One of the biggest advantages is the reduction of unnecessary movement around the machine.
Instead of constantly climbing in and out of the cab, operators can complete markings immediately from their working position.
This not only improves productivity but may also reduce physical strain on the operator’s knees, back and joints.
In some situations SprayPal can even reduce the need for an additional worker on the ground whose primary task is marking positions.

The concept is simple:
Mark where you need to mark, exactly when you need to mark it, without leaving the machine.
Developed by an excavator operator for excavator operators, SprayPal was created to solve a real-world problem found on job sites every day.
