Spyder man swaps brands

Long term readers of the Digger (Man) Blog may recall how we covered American Spyder excavator owner/operator Don Halvorsen and his Menzi Muck A71 machine as far back as 2008, well Don now reports he has recently switched to another brand in the form of an Italian Euromach R125.

Don has opted for the Euromach R125 thanks in part to its impressive 4 cylinder John Deere engine which produces a power output of 173hp/127kw which Don describes as a vast improvement in power compared to his old Menzi Muck machine. The 4 wheel steer machine has been supplied with an Engcon tilt-rotator, check valves on the boom and extending dipper arm. The machine is sporting the name of Don’s new company Spiderworx All Terrain Excavating. Spiderworx All Terrain Excavating are based in the Los Angeles area and work mainly in Southern California and the Greater Northwest region of the United States. Don and his team of experienced operators specialise in spider hoe slope work, slope re-compaction, hillside repair and drilling, hillside clearance and brush mowing to name a few. They work on some of the most demanding job sites on earth which include incredibly steep hills where it looks virtually impossible that a machine could work. We have no video footage from Don at this point in time, but check out this You Tube clip featuring a Euromach R125 in action on flail mower duties.
