Stability redefined in Yanmar’s SV39 mini excavator

Exceptional stability. Smooth, responsive performance. Operator-first design. Yanmar CE’s all-new SV39 completes the 3.5 – 4.0-tonne class line-up with a compact machine that’s built to handle more – with total control, comfort, and confidence.

Stability redefined in Yanmar’s SV39 mini excavator

Yanmar Compact Equipment EMEA (Yanmar) has announced the launch of its SV39 Mini Excavator (3,670 – 3,885 kg Operating Weight), engineered with stability as its defining strength. Designed for versatility, precision and ease of operation, the new unit is a confident addition to Yanmar’s compact excavator range; and a trusted partner on the most demanding sites and applications. From civil engineering and construction, to landscaping and municipal work – and beyond.

Stability without compromise

The defining feature of the SV39 is its outstanding stability. Built with an optimised weight distribution and reinforced undercarriage, the machine stays rock-solid, even under heavy loads or on uneven terrain. A short arm and cabin configuration further enhances performance, delivering up to 20% greater lifting capacity compared to typical machines in the same weight class. An optional additional counterweight (+160 kg) enhances balance further – perfect for attachment work where precision and poise are key.

Engineered to handle larger and heavier attachments, the SV39 expands its application scope while maintaining consistent control. It’s tiltrotator-ready in both direct and sandwich mount, giving operators even more flexibility and functionality – particularly valuable for trenching, grading and landscaping jobs that demand maximum manoeuvrability.

Under the hood, the SV39 is powered by a fuel-efficient Stage V 3TNV88-ESBV2 diesel engine, delivering 18.5 kW of net power at 2,200 rpm. A high-performance hydraulic system, comprising dual variable displacement pumps (2 x 37.9 l/min) and a gear pump (26.7 l/min), ensures fast, responsive operation.

With a bucket digging force of 32.8 kN and arm forces of 20.8 kN (short) and 18.9 kN (long), the SV39 makes light work of demanding excavation tasks. A maximum digging depth of 3,520 mm and reach of up to 5,370 mm (long arm) help operators get more done, with fewer repositioning stops.

Designed around the operator

As with every Yanmar machine, the SV39 has been developed with the operator in mind. The spacious, ergonomic cab offers excellent visibility, intuitive joystick controls and a fully adjustable seat. Inside, a new 4.3-inch colour display and improved air conditioning vents enhance usability and comfort across long working hours. Whether in the cabin or canopy version, operators benefit from a low-noise, user-friendly environment that reduces fatigue and supports safe, confident operation.

Available in both canopy and cabin configurations, the SV39 can be fitted with either rubber or steel crawlers – allowing users to tailor the machine to site conditions. With a transport weight starting at just 3,490 kg (canopy/rubber crawlers) and an overall width of 1,740 mm, it’s easy to move between sites and operate in confined areas. Travel speeds of up to 4.5 km/h help operators move quickly and efficiently across the jobsite.

Uptime made easy

Minimising downtime is a core focus of the SV39’s design. Large, lockable hoods provide excellent access to key components, and all service points can be checked quickly from ground level. The right-side hood opens without tools, making inspections and radiator cleaning simple and fast.

Finished in Yanmar’s iconic ‘Premium Red’, the SV39 blends Japanese engineering with European-built reliability – delivering next-generation performance, comfort and control in a compact, powerful package. With its winning trifecta of simplicity, stability and staying power – and the added muscle to handle advanced attachments – it’s a machine built to keep productivity high – day in, day out.
