Takeuchi’s 15-tonner gets the 3-Series Treatment
Japanese manufacturer Takeuchi chose Conexpo-Con/Agg to launch its latest 3-Series upgrade.
Making its first public appearance at Conexpo-Con/Agg, the Takeuchi TB3150R is the long-awaited replacement for the popular TB2150R compact hydraulic excavator, the largest machine in the manufacturer’s current portfolio.
While detailed specifications have yet to be released, Takeuchi says the TB3150R represents the next step in its equipment evolution, building on the brand’s long-standing reputation for durability, performance and operator-focused design.

Takeuchi has taken the decision to switch from the Deutz engine that was fitted in the previous model, and is now fitting a Stage V emissions compliant, 114hp Yanmar diesel engine, adding even more state-of-the-art, blue-chip Japanese technology to the machine.
Apparently, this new power package eliminates one of the gear pumps, giving the excavator greater hydraulic efficiency compared to its predecessor. The internal track structure has also been improved and the new tracks are both stronger and lighter.

Another highlight is the new cab design. It features a new monitor and button control layout as well as a suspension seat with heating.
It could be a little while before we see one of these in the metal here in the UK, but I will be chomping at the bit for an Earthmovers “First Drive” opportunity when it does land.
Let's take a tour around the entire Takeuchi booth with our American friend Brandon Johnson of Elite Earthworks fame, who is also a Takeuchi US brand ambassador.
