Takeuchi’s “Rubber Duck” Turns Heads

Officially launched at Bauma 2022 in Munich, Takeuchi’s TB395W continues the long-lasting legacy of the previous 2-Series model, which itself was a legendary piece of kit.

Takeuchi describe the TB395W as a larger, high-performance machine complete with the high mobility benefits that come with a wheeled excavator, including higher travel speeds and the ability to handle both on and off-road applications.

The model which was skilfully demonstrated by Takeuchi end user/owner Owen Mays, during the Plantworx exhibition earlier this year, boasts two four-wheel steering options – 4WS (all-wheel steering) and 4WSC (crab steering).

The Auto Cruise feature enables operators to adjust travel speeds at the press of a button or operating a toggle switch on an optional, multi-function grip. Auto Cruise is designed for attachments that require a consistent, repeatable speed such as a mulcher, mower or trencher.

The excavator weighs 1,0625kg equipped with outriggers and a blade. It is powered by a Stage V-compliant Deutz engine delivering 85kW of power and up to 460Nm of torque. Digging depth is 4,095mm, while dump height is 6,240mm.

The TB395W features the all-new 3-Series interior cab styling. Using the intuitive automotive styled jog dial, operators can navigate and control the monitor, including its heating and climate control as well as DAB radio functions.

Fitted with the long dipper arm and the two-piece (TAB) boom, the machine benefits from the variable geometry that can be achieved with such a set-up, offering a long reach and deep digging depth, while also being able to clean up to the dozer blade in a dust pan and brush style, the addition of a tiltrotator makes the machine the complete all-round tool for site work.
