Takeuchi’s TB215R from an Australian perspective

Japanese mini excavator specialist Takeuchi first launched the TB215R model during the Bauma trade fair in Munich back in 2013, the machine has gone on to become a best seller around the world and is especially popular with jobbing builders, groundworkers and landscaping contractors.

Takeuchi’s TB215R from an Australian perspective
The TB215R is a short-radius machine which means its counterweight only overhangs the tracks slightly when they are in their extended position. Tipping the scales at just 1,180kgs and powered by 11.5hp (8.6kw) three-cylinder Kubota engine, the machine is incredibly compact measuring just 750mm wide with its tracks retracted, enabling easy access through gateways and doors, once in a back garden the tracks can be hydraulically expanded out to a width of 1,020mm giving the machine a nice wide footprint for stability when working. Our friends “Down Under” at Australian publication Trade Earthmovers recently put one to the test, check out what their reviewer Evarn Covich had to say about the machine in this video.
