The Eagle has Landed

If you visited the Takeuchi UK stand at Hillhead, there is a good chance you spotted a very distinctive TB3150R on display.

The machine was the first 3-Series 15-tonne class TB3150R sold to a customer in the UK, and not just any customer, it was in fact one of Takeuchi’s oldest customers, South West based Eagle Plant who are celebrating 50 years in business this year.

The company is an ever-expanding business and now operates from 23 depots nationally from Launceston in Cornwall, right up to Bury in Manchester.

The company have been long time believers in the quality of the Takeuchi products, having started purchasing them back in 1997, and they are currently running over 600 of the famous red & grey machines, however this latest model features a very different livery, with a blue and yellow wrap design in keeping with Eagle Plant’s regular colour code.

This machine reaches the milestone of being the 1800^th Takeuchi purchased by Eagle Plant, and it’s safe to say it won’t be the last as the machines are well proven, and overwhelmingly liked by operators who appreciate, the silky-smooth quality of the controls, speed, power and comfort levels of these Japanese designed and built machines.

The latest new 3-Series machines move the Takeuchi brand into the 15-tonne weight class. The fixed boom and short tail combine to offer a powerful yet very compact machine in this weight class. The machine features the very latest Yanmar Stage V engine with push button start delivering increased hydraulic horsepower, 14% more than the previous model TB2150R. This crucial upgrade boosts performance in simultaneous operations, particularly those requiring high pressure.

I was hoping to pop out to see this machine and the Eagle Plant operation, but I might have been pipped at the post on this occasion, but let’s see what happens.
