The Finnish Flair of Maxpo

The construction machinery show circuit continues in Finland as Maxpo returns to its spiritual home of the old Hyvinkää Airport from Thursday 28th – Saturday 30th August.

The first Maxpo exhibition was held in 1970. Construction machinery manufacturers and importers had already decided in the 1960s that the country needed an industry specific exhibition. Based on that decision, the Construction Machinery Exhibition Association was founded, which was a driving force behind the current Maxpo format.

Hyvinkää Airport has been the regular venue for the Maxpo event, since moving there back in 2009, and it really is a superb venue for this kind of show, the main runway serves as a major pedestrian route for the entire length of the show with the various stands located on either side with additional pathways further out.

This year, the show that is larger than ever, with almost 250 companies taking part with stands covering some 46,500 square metres of exhibition space it’s a virtual sell out! There will also be new innovation compared to previous shows, with exhibitors encouraged to allow more test drives of new machines from a wide range of manufacturers.

Nothing beats getting “hands on” in the seat of the new machines to get that first hand feeling of how they work, and if it’s the type of machine you would enjoy operating every day, it’s like, you wouldn’t buy a car without having a test drive, and it should be the same with construction machinery.

Of course, many of the new product launches that we witnessed at Bauma in Munich earlier this year, will be available for Finnish customers to see, many of them for the first time in Finland, so there will be plenty of excitement.
