During a site visit last week, I had the pleasure of witnessing another Finnish designed and built TMK tree shear in action.

With the next Finnmetko Forestry Show looming on the horizon in Finland next month, I thought it would be a good opportunity to take another look at the TMK 300, which was the original one grapple tree shear manufactured by TMK.

The shear received an upgrade just over a year ago and in the video below our good friend Tony Nova Koponen, the eldest son of the founder of the business, tells us about the improvements on the Next Generation TMK 300 which now offers a big leap forward in terms of reliability and performance.

The machine we visited last week was a Mecalac 6MCR which fitted with a TMK 300 at work in an interesting application. I will have the full story on that featuring in Earthmovers in due course.
