Two Cat classics working in combo

I came across this video clip on you tube recently and figured it was worthy of a spot here on the Digger Man Blog.

This clip is sure to appeal to lovers of the old Caterpillar machines which have gained almost legendary status over the years and let’s be honest, they don’t come much more legendary than the Cat D9G dozer. The example seen in this clip is a 1973 model and is working hard pushing away overburden which has been excavated by another Cat classic in the form of a 1977 Caterpillar 245 hydraulic excavator. These models along with the smaller 235 are often hailed as the greatest excavators ever built by the American machinery giant. The largest 200 series excavator I ever operated was a 225DLC, but I did come across this fine example of a 245 in Fuerteventura a few years ago. And so here is the clip, sit back, crank up the sound and enjoy the raw power of these two classic Cat’s which are still a working testament to the longevity of the brand.
