Unconventional MAC SwingSteer becomes a Bad Boy!

A couple of years ago we ran a blog reporting on an unusual type of skid steer loader, built in America by the Mac Company, and now, according to reports, the company has been acquired by another American business Bad Boy Mowers.

Unconventional MAC SwingSteer becomes a Bad Boy!

The Mac Company who are based in West Fargo, N.D. was initially founded in 2019 by Peter Christianson and Tom Lykken. Christianson has been in the Agricultural and Construction Equipment industry for more than 40 years.

Bad Boy will bring investment into the business, which will continue to operate out of the existing MAC Company headquarters in West Fargo, securing the jobs of all the employees at the facility. Even to two co-founders of the company will remain in place going forward.

The SwingSteer machines themselves have had makeover, with the original yellow livery being swapped for a dynamic red colour. Although retaining the SwingSteer concept, the machines will be renamed as the Bad Boy Terrain GXP-400 and will be incorporated into Bad Boys current light construction equipment offerings.

We have never seen any of these machines in the UK to the best of my knowledge, and with the vast array of more mainstream skid steers and CTL’s available in the European market. Having said that, Bad Boy do have dealers for mowers and general groundcare equipment in the UK, so there could be some potential in the future.

Let’s take a look at the Bad Boy!
