Wacker Neuson’s dual powered mini marvel

During my recent visit to see New Haden Plant Sales in Cheadle, I had a brief spell at the controls of the Wacker Neuson 803 Dualpower mini excavator and we have now received a video of it in action on a demonstration jobsite.

The 803 Dualpower was first demonstrated at the Bauma Trade Fair in Munich in April 2013. The machine offers contractors the option of running the machine under its own engine power, or when using indoors or in confined spaces the machine can be operated totally emission-free via Wacker Neusons HPU8 electro-hydraulic generator.  This really is a fantastic little Eco-friendly machine for interior demolition, or when working in noise sensitive environments. I will be writing in more detail about it in a forthcoming edition of Earthmovers magazine. In this mobile phone footage from New Haden Plant we see the 803 Dualpower at work using electro-hydraulic power inside a school where it was digging out for new drainage   For specialised markets, like demolition and small builders doing internal work, I can see this machine being a big success, definitely one to look out for in the future.
