Wrong kind of snow on the line – no problem for the Swedes

While our UK rail network is currently being washed away under a deluge of water that has descended during the current winter storms, in Sweden its snow that is the major problem.

These photos and attached video have been sent into the Digger Man Blog by our Swedish friend Alexander Lipkin. Once again it clearly shows the hi-tech approach to day to day work that our Scandinavian cousins are so famous for. The machine featured here is a Komatsu PC138US-8 RM rail conversion hydraulic excavator, complete with Engcon tiltrotator and snowplough. This video footage clearly shows the versatility that tiltrotator equipped machine can offer, even more so when a machine is working from one spot, as in this example along the rails.
