ADT’s in the frame (Archive photos)

South African company Bell Equipment first entered the articulated hauler business in 1985, when they launched the 25 tonne class B25. Using well proven components the company rapidly expanded its range which was then topped off with the 40 tonne class B40. In this first shot we see a Bell B40B model being loaded by a Liebherr excavator in a quarry in Africa. In this shot we see a Bell B25C model. The C series were introduced in 1998, still featuring Mercedes Benz engines but with improvements to the operator’s cabin and better access. Look out for my article on a well-known Bell dumptruck user in the next issue of Earthmovers Magazine. A change of make now and colour too, with a couple of shots of Terex machines. First up featuring the distinctive lime green Terex livery we see the 40 tonne capacity 4066C being loaded by an O&K face shovel. This machine would have been built in the company’s own plant in Scotland with the 6x6 model being powered by a Detroit Diesel of some 375hp. Finally in this batch of shots, we have an example of Terex’s 30 tonne class machine the 3066C in action coming down a slope fully loaded. Look out for more archive shots soon on the Digger Man Blog.
