Ageing Sumitomo reviewed

Ron who reviews kit for the Australian publication Trade Earthmovers caught up with this Sumitomo SH210 which is one of a number of machines owned and operated by Adrian & Maree Johanson. Its unusual to see this colour scheme in Australia as Sumitomo’s are normally supplied into this region in yellow livery, but as I understand it Adrian’s father ran Sumitomo’s in the 1970’s which sported the Link Belt colours and having had such reliable service from them for many decades Adrian decided to stick with the distinctive red and white livery to this day. Not a problem of course, as the machine's are factory painted in red and white Link Belt livery for the US market, in addition to the Sumitomo yellow and Case tan colours. This machine has been working in some extremely difficult conditions as you will see in the video, but even with over 8,000 hours on the meter the machine is as reliable as ever, a testament to the legendary reliability that we in the UK associate with the brand in this country, all be it in the Case tan livery. As one famous Digger Man Blog Facebook group member says, “Sumo, no tool box required!”
The Digger Man Blog would like to thank Ron Horner and Trade Earthmovers for the use of material contained within this blog post.
