Allu launches new concrete bucket

ALLU has introduced the concrete bucket, a new excavator attachment designed to crush and screen pulverised demolition concrete directly on-site. The Finland-based manufacturer says the attachment is aimed at improving productivity, reducing transport requirements and supporting more efficient material recovery on demolition and recycling projects.

Developed for 25-45 tonne excavators, the Concrete Bucket can accept feed material up to 300mm in size and produce 0-50mm or 0-100mm aggregate, depending on the counter blade configuration. Under suitable conditions, it is capable of processing up to 100 tonnes of material per hour, reducing the need to transport waste to off-site crushing facilities or bring additional equipment onto site.

Rather than using a traditional jaw crusher, the attachment employs rotating drums fitted with replaceable carbide picks working against a counter blade to continuously crush and screen material. It has also been designed to handle reinforced concrete, allowing steel and rebar to pass through or be separated during processing, helping maintain productivity.

"Our goal has always been to develop equipment that enables customers to process materials where the work is taking place," said Peter Grönholm, Chief Executive Officer of ALLU Finland. "The ALLU Concrete Bucket continues that commitment by helping contractors improve efficiency, reduce unnecessary material handling, and recover valuable materials directly on-site."

Replaceable wear parts allow routine maintenance to be carried out on site, while compatible carriers can also utilise ALLU's Drain Line Eliminator™ hydraulic system to simplify installation.

Field trials have demonstrated the attachment's capabilities in demanding demolition environments. "We have been pleased with the production capacity and overall handling characteristics," said Jonathan Bjon, Chief Executive Officer of Ursa Demolition. "The attachment has performed well in our demolition applications and has proven capable of handling demanding material processing tasks efficiently."

ALLU says the new attachment supports growing demand for sustainable demolition by enabling reusable aggregate to be produced on site, reducing transport movements, fuel consumption and reliance on external processing facilities.

"The Concrete Bucket has been developed to provide contractors with an efficient and practical way to process demolition materials directly where the work is taking place," said Antti Rautamies, Head of Research and Development at ALLU. "As project requirements continue to evolve, we remain committed to developing solutions that improve productivity, simplify material handling, and support responsible resource management."

The ALLU Concrete Bucket is suitable for processing pulverised concrete, reinforced concrete, brick, asphalt, demolition rubble and other mixed construction materials, combining crushing and screening into a single attachment for greater on-site flexibility.
