APC Civils enhances fleet versatility with new Cat M319 wheeled excavator
APC Civils has invested in a Cat M319 wheeled excavator from Finning UK & Ireland to increase versatility and efficiencies on civil engineering projects.
The new excavator will be used to supply and install temporary concrete safety barriers for civil engineering, highways and construction projects. To meet the demands of working in an urban and highway environment, Finning recommended the Cat M319 wheeled excavator to increase the versatility of the company’s fleet.
Shane Clarke, Managing Director at APC Civils commented on the benefits of this recent machine investment, saying: “Our working environment is typically defined by limitations in space due to existing infrastructure on highways, or urban construction sites. By design, wheeled excavators are far more sensitive to their environment than the tracked version because they can travel on paved roads. This is vital when working in built up areas where you want to limit the damage caused to roads, pavements and other existing infrastructure, which wouldn’t be possible on tracks.
“Additionally, wheeled excavators are often more compact and more manoeuvrable than the tracked excavators, which means they are easier to operate in the often-confined parameters of urban environments, between buildings, cars or through residential streets.
“We have already seen the mobility benefits of the wheeled excavator in its ability to move quickly between sites, reducing costly downtime. It can also use a wide range of attachments, making it an asset to several applications and reducing the cost of having to increase the number of machines on-site.
“By investing in the Cat M319, we have enhanced the versatility of the fleet to complement the range of applications we work in and are sure we will continue to see the benefits of this machine for years to come.”
Kane Turner, Territory Account Manager at Finning UK & Ireland said: “Wheeled excavators are not just an attractive proposition based on their physical benefits, optional integrated technologies that are similar to tracked excavators such as Cat Grade for precisive digging, e-fence motion restrictors and payload systems for tracking material weight all enhance the precision of these machines, which is again vital when you are working small, busy urban spaces.
“For APC Civils the wheeled excavator is a versatile asset and has already proven itself in a range of jobs including lifting and handling concrete blocks and steel barriers to moving larger interlocking blocks with agility. This level of adaptability and performance will enable the company to respond quickly to changing project needs with ease.
“We’re also continuing to provide support with care and maintenance packages, as well as extended warranty to ensure APC Civils gets the best out of its machine. Our continued relationship with APC Civils highlights how the right equipment, paired with extensive aftersales support adds tangible value to our customers.”
