Bargain Basement Excavator Transport

The video features some Vietnamese guys who have clearly taken their inspiration from the Finnish built Sleipner excavator transport system, that we see in use in large mining applications to save on track wear. Having said that, I don’t think they got the brief on the build quality and one would assume that no risk assessments have been carried out either! One has to say that towing the Komatsu PC30 MR which is around the 3-tonne mark like this just looks to be an accident waiting to happen, so much so that I could barely watch as the set up pulls away belching out black smoke as it did! I especially find the wrapping of a piece of reinforcing steel on to the back of the “tow vehicle” for security quite amusing, could you imagine this happening in the UK!
